About The Queensland Business Energy Saving and Transformation (QBEST) Rebates scheme
The QBEST Rebates scheme offers financial assistance to qualifying small and medium-sized Queensland businesses aiming to install energy-efficient equipment.
The energy-efficient equipment you purchase and install should reduce your business's energy consumption and energy costs and play a role in achieving the Queensland Government's carbon reduction objectives.
QBEST Program Key Details
By leveraging the abundance of solar energy, we can help you offset rising electricity costs. The Powersensor solutions empower you to understand daily energy production and consumption and your energy usage if you don’t have solar installed. Down to an individual appliance level through tracking. This level of insight allows for informed decisions that translate into substantial long-term savings.
Eligible business size - Small to medium-sized businesses with 2 to 199 full-time employees
Closing date - 30 June 2025
Each funding round closes once the allocated funding has been exhausted, with further rounds expected in February and August 2024. Powersensor monitors your energy journey.
Available funding - A rebate of up to 50% of the purchase and installation costs (GST exclusive) of eligible equipment, up to a maximum of $12,500. A minimum spend of $8,000 (GST exclusive) is required.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the QBEST Rebates, your business must:
Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN)
Be registered for GST
Have its headquarters in Queensland and operate from premises within the state
Employ at least two but no more than 199 full-time (or equivalent) employees
Not be a public company under the Corporations Act 2001
Not have received funding for the equipment under any previous rounds of this scheme or any other government funding
Already be operational (not eligible for startup equipment)
AND
purchase (and install if required) eligible equipment after the rebate opening date.
Eligible Equipment
To be eligible for the rebate, your purchase must:
Be made on or after October 5, 2023
Have been paid in full, with a valid receipt
Be at least one item from the applicable equipment list on the Business Queensland website below. Eligibility is limited to items on this list.
