Electricity costs continue to rise in Australia and won’t be falling anytime soon. If you’re one of the lucky ones residing in Victoria, the government wants to give you $250 toward your energy bills to help you get through the price surge.

The $250 Power Saving Bonus is a one-time payment from the Victorian government, originally created for households with certain concessions. However, the offer was extended to every household across Victoria in July 2022, and all you need to do to get it now is apply via the Victorian Energy Compare website. The application process will only take about ten minutes.

Applications for the current round (for 2022) can be submitted up until midnight on 23 March 2023, and all Victorian households will also be able to apply for the next round of $250 Power Saving Bonus (for 2023) from 24 March 2023 onwards.
