In this article, we have put together a list of the main energy conferences across Australia for 2023, so you can plan and book to attend well in advance.
The Energy Industry was front page news in 2022. It was a tough year for energy consumers as prices spiralled, and a tough year for the solar industry, as it included the first year of contraction for domestic solar installations since 2015.
This year, the energy crisis, energy security, and the nation’s quest for net zero outcomes will remain dominant themes for the industry to address at Australia’s major industry and public energy conferences.

1. 2023 SEIA Solar Installer Annual Conferences

The Solar Energy Industries Association conferences are developed by installers for installers. They concentrate on technical topics ranging from batteries to compliance, troubleshooting, utilities sessions, VPPs, and EVs. Their Installer Forum is well worth the price of admission, as you’ll be participating in informative, hands-on sessions.

3. Australia Large Scale Solar Summit

Sessions will feature a range of technical topics, including grid and system strength, construction and safety, asset management, social licence, policy and more. This conference is led by some of the leading minds from organisations such as AEMO, Deloitte, Powerlink, AECOM, and the Department of Energy and Public Works QLD, just to name a few.
If you’re a member of The Clean Energy Council, tickets will only cost you $440 + GST. For non-members it will be $785 + GST to attend.

4. Enlit Australia

5. Energy Networks Innovation Seminar - Enabling Net Zero

The Energy Networks Australia is an annual major seminar for key industry stakeholders within Australia’s energy networks to explore how to deliver a secure and reliable net zero energy future together. The end goal is to ensure Australia achieves its decarbonisation objectives while giving consumers greater control over their energy use.

6. Smart Energy Expo

The cost of a ticket to attend energy conferences in Australia can be expensive. The Smart Energy Expo is the most accessible option, as it is one of the biggest, all-things-renewable events in Australia, but is free to attend.
This conference typically hosts over 6,500 attendees each year, as they innovate and connect at ICC Sydney. It provides the entire renewables industry with the opportunity to come together. Manufacturers, distributors, project developers, financiers, and many more will attend.

7. Energy Next 2023

Energy Next is a free-to-attend industry event focusing on the latest renewable energy and energy management technologies.
Held across 2 days, it will provide an extensive exhibition, workshops and networking opportunities for those working in the renewable energy industry and will bring a quality exhibition and technical session series to NSW. Energy Next will also host the Clean Energy Council’s Solar Masterclass with a program developed for solar designers and installers.

8. EECON - Our Energy Future Unlocking Net Zero

With the challenging task of reaching net zero by 2050, the energy industry needs to rapidly transform to assist the implementation and uptake of environmentally friendly technologies to cater to the complexities of the future landscape.
Organised by the Electric Energy Society of Australia (EESA), the theme of EECON2023 is “Our Energy Future – Unlocking Net Zero”, where it will explore and deliver a diverse range of informative and interesting speakers to shed light on the future energy landscape.

9. All-Energy Australia

All-Energy Australia is Australia’s largest gathering of renewable energy professionals. In 2022, the conference was co-presented with Waste Expo Australia, offering a premium free-to-attend business-to-business conference hosted alongside an impressive exhibition.
Attendees are offered the opportunity to access and learn about both renewable energy and waste management solutions.

10. Australian Climate Tech Festival

Held in December 2022, with all tickets sold out last year, you’ll need to bookmark this conference and check back for announcements for the 2023 date.
This conference brought together entrepreneurs, scientists, investors, customers, and supporters who presented solutions that covered the world. Climate tech is often considered the most important sector in the startup world, with investment flowing 5x faster than any other industry!
The conference pulled together our world’s innovators at Sydney’s Australian National Maritime Museum and promises to be another awesome opportunity to learn more about clean energy and how we can make changes to continue the path to net zero.

11. Energy Oceania - Global Renewable Energy Meet
This year’s Energy Oceania Conference will be held on 16 to 18 October, 2023, with the theme “Embracing a Global Paradigm Shift towards Decarbonization”.
Energy Oceania is known for bringing together international experts in the energy space, creating a constructive dialogue addressing future innovations towards clean energy.
